Scripture Reading: Romans 1:18-25, Gospel for the Unrighteous

Call to Worship:

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

We marvel this morning at the work of your hands

From vast oceans to each tiny fingerprint, you have made it all!

Marvelous are your works, O Lord!

May our wonder at your creation lead us to worship you and you only,

For you have made all things through your mighty power and for your glory,

And you are the one continuing to hold it all together.

You are worthy to be praised, today and forever!

Confession and Lament

Lord, your power and glory are on full display for us each day,

But we have all at one time shut our eyes and hardened our hearts toward you, 

Coming up with our own reasons and explanations,

Rather than giving you the thanks that you deserve.

Open our eyes, soften our hearts, and help us to see you rightly.

Our blindness can lead us to become self-sufficient,

Choosing our own way instead of yours,

Leading to chaos, brokenness, and separation from you.

Father, in those moments, may we turn from our sin and run to you, 

Knowing that your arms of grace are open to us.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

In your sight, Lord, we are all alike:

Desperate, broken sinners in need of your grace

A grace freely extended to us through Jesus  !

We are no longer defined by our former labels;

Our worth is secure in your hands.

We stand renewed and redeemed, holy and blameless!

We surrender to your transformation,

becoming more like you every day.
