1:23-25, Idolatry is the Opposite of the Gospel

Call to Worship:

Come, let us worship our God, who created us!

In him and for him all things were created!

He is over all things; and everything was made for him.

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together!

Lord, we praise You for all that You do and all that You are. 

Confession and Lament

O God, You alone are the source of all good.

Yet, we confess that we often run after other powers and trust in false wisdom. 

Help us to set our hearts and minds on your truth.

Jesus, you show us the path of life,

You welcome us into the joy of your presence. 

Help us to cherish and trust in your ways. Amen.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

Jesus Christ is the Resurrection and the Life.

He is our hope in the midst of trial.

Our peace in the middle of chaos.

Now, we do not live this life in vain. 

Jesus, you go before us to show us the Way.
