Scripture Reading: Psalm 29

Call to Worship:

By the power of His voice, our God tamed, created, and calmed the chaos,

Bringing forth all of creation into order.  

God, let us hear that same voice today.

All of creation bows before Yahweh!

All of creation ascribes His worth!

You are the Lord, Great and Mighty!

Confession and Lament

We act as if we are holding the reigns of our lives,

but we are often just grasping at straws to feel safe and happy.

When we seek to control our lives, we neglect rest.

We try to walk in our own power, failing to see your mercy everywhere.

Lord, help us to worship more deeply by trusting that you rule over all and you care more than anyone.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

Today, what looks like chaos in our life is actually perfectly in God's control.

Today, God is calling us to trust that He has our best interests in mind.

Today, in Jesus, we can find peace that calms our chaos.

In Jesus, what troubles and ails us meets resolve. 

In Jesus, heartbreak and pain meet comfort.

In Jesus, all is made new.
