Scripture Reading: Psalm 34

Note: Father’s Day

Call to Worship:

As we lift our voices in praise to You, we remember:

You are our loving Father, and You delight in our worship!

You see us in this moment, and you hear our cries on our darkest day.

We praise You for being near to us this morning and always.

You are our redeemer, deliverer, and savior,

Our refuge and help in times of trouble.

You are Provider of all that we need.

Receive the glory You deserve in our hearts today!

Confession and Lament:

Life can be hard and heavy.

When troubles seem to be around every turn,

Rather than turn to you, we try to figure things out on our own,

Fighting for a sense of control or self-sufficiency,

When, really, You made us to depend on You.

Today, we ask you to show us the depth of our need for You.

No matter how big our problems seem, You are bigger.

You are mighty and strong to save, so why would we not cry out to you?

Humble our hearts to seek You above all else.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

What a gracious God we serve!

Jesus’ sacrifice made a way for us to be free.

Though we deserved judgment, we stand redeemed!

We are free from shame and condemnation through Jesus!

We don’t have to run from Him and hide our shame,

We can run to Him, our hiding place!

We can boldly approach God’s throne,

Confident that He hears and answers our prayers.

Though we face troubles and trials, He is near and mighty to save.

What peace and joy is found in His presence!
