Call to Worship:
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,
Who was, and who is, and who is to come!
Let our prayers and praises this day join with those of all the saints.
May they rise as pleasing incense before your throne,
For You alone are worthy to be praised!
How wondrous that You would bend Your ear to hear us!
How unthinkable that You would grant us to be in your presence!
May our awe of You and our gratitude toward You lead us to worship,
For You alone are worthy to be praised!
Confession and Lament:
When we gaze upon the greatness of our God,
Our own sinfulness and failings can feel so overwhelming.
We have seen over and over that our own efforts to make things right will always fail.
Oh God, be merciful to us.
Help us to daily be honest with You about our sin,
Seeking You in humble repentance, and accepting the grace You extend,
Though it is too marvelous to comprehend.
Give us the faith to believe Your sacrifice covers us.
Your grace is far greater than all of our sin!
Assurance of Gospel Peace:
What abundant grace is ours in Christ Jesus!
We were once dead in sin, but have been given new life!
We did nothing to deserve this, and can do nothing to earn it.
It is God who began it, God who empowers it, and God who will complete it!
What abundant grace is ours in Christ Jesus!
The same God at work in us individually is at work in the lives of those around us
Let this motivate us to encourage one another to live out the grace we’ve been given!
What abundant grace is ours in Christ Jesus!
