5.3.26

May 3, 2026 - Sunday Liturgy // Writer: Meg Williams

Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 30:11-20

Call to Worship:

We gather to meet a God who comes near,

no matter what junk is stuck to us today.

Our burdens and distractions are eased

in the presence of our living God!

Praise the Lord for giving us life!

With singing, prayer, his word, and communion,

our hearts are refreshed and challenged again.

Praise the Lord for weekly renewal!

 Confession/lament

What heart remains loyal to God in every moment?

What person or society always chooses his ways?

There is no one who always chooses righteousness.

The results are broken people, broken relationships,

and a broken world at large.

We need reminders of your holiness and care,

but we do not keep you close to our hearts as we should,

choosing distraction and numbness instead.

Help us and write your ways upon our hearts!

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

No one can keep the ways of God perfectly,

and the troubles of life can pull us away from him.

But he brings peace in the midst of uncertainty!

God, you bring hope in the middle of despair.

You meet us in our fears and our failures,

reminding us that, as you fulfilled the whole law of God,

you will complete the good work you have started in us!

We praise you, the author and finisher of our faith!
