Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 26
Call to Worship:
Sing to the Lord!
He has come to his people
with a strong hand and a mighty arm.
He saves and provides!
We lift our hearts to worship him!
He has called people to be his own,
And he gives us all things to follow him.
We welcome him with obedience and love!
Confession and Lament
Often, our faith is too fragile.
We become angry and disappointed
when you do not answer us the way we expect.
Forgive us for our entitlement and selfishness.
We blame you for the results of evil in this world.
We credit ourselves for blessings and success.
We often wonder where you are,
But you never removed your love and help.
Teach us to see your faithfulness and to trust you.
Assurance of Gospel Peace:
Even though our minds and hearts are fickle and never satisfied,
You provide satisfaction for every need in Jesus.
Every wound and yearning has an answer.
You will show us what it looks like to thrive.
Even when we doubt, you care for us
As a mother hen with her chicks,
As a shepherd with wandering sheep,
Willing to die for the sake of our living.
Our God gave up his life so we can live!
