Scripture Reading: Revelation 2:1-7 (Guest Pastor) 

Call to Worship:

The Most High sits upon his throne

Ruling with justice and grace.

We bless his name together:

You are God Almighty!

We know of his great love

Because he stepped down from Heaven to be close to us.

We bless his holy name!

Confession and Lament

We misunderstand what you have called us to do. 

We point out the wrongs of others to seem righteous,

Hoping this balances our scale.

Lord, help us to trust in the finished work of the cross instead.

We need your Holy Spirit to convict us when we view others wrongly.

For if our character is only marked by judgment, what good is it?

Give us eyes to see and ears to hear. 

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

The chains of sin have been broken off.

The weight of shame has been lifted.

Because Jesus defeated death,

We have hope for tomorrow!

And we do not keep this hope to ourselves,

For it is good news to those who are broken, tired, and far off.

May we take the hope of Christ with us wherever we go.
