Scripture Reading: Numbers 26
Call to Worship:
In all things, good or bad,
Let us all praise the Lord!
He is giver of life,
Full of love and kindness,
Upright and faithful,
Full of healing and justice!
Yes, He is good!
His mercy abounds every day,
and he will make all things new!
Praise the Lord!
Confession and Lament
We want to feel secure.
Even though you lead us, Lord,
we sometimes act in destructive ways
to force the outcome we want.
Forgive us when we stray and calm our fears.
We keep score of good and bad deeds.
We make risky agreements and partnerships.
Or, we justify controlling others,
In order to secure the future we hope to see.
Forgive us and give us renewed hearts.
Assurance of Gospel Peace:
We will have hard times—
Whether from our choices,
Others’ choices, or trouble in our world.
But God does not turn away from his children.
We can lean on him because he will never leave us.
Because of his love for us, he made a way
to protect and change us, for now and the future.
He suffers with us, and he rejoices with us.
We have peace because he is always with us!
