Scripture Reading: Exodus 20:8-11 - Fourth Commandment

Call to Worship:

As a new day has begun—

Let us praise our Almighty God!

For the new week coming up—

Let us have trust in our God!

For the everlasting love of Christ—

Let us rejoice in our God!

Confession and Lament:

O Lord, you showed us the way,

but sometimes we wander off,

or think we know better.

Please lead us back on your paths.

Your way is not just good and holy,

but the way that we can all thrive.

We hurt ourselves and others when we stray.

Forgive us and help us trust you.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

Jesus set aside his power to live and die for us.

No ruler in history ever gave up so much for his friends, let alone his enemies.

He came, died, and rose to life

to break cycles of sin and death!
