Scripture Reading: Exodus 20:12 - Fifth Commandment

Call to Worship:

People of God, exalt the Lord in this place!

We lift high the name of our God.

He is righteous and just!

We glorify the Most High with shouts of joy!

Lord God, you are above all else!

Holy is your name!

Confession and Lament:

Lord, we confess that we focus too much on things that fade–

Things that are here today and gone tomorrow.

Help us to fix our eyes on you, God eternal.

For we know in our minds that you are powerful, 

But our circumstances cause us to respond in fear.

Give us confidence to walk boldly because of who you are.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

Abundant life is ours through the cross of Jesus. 

In Christ, we have a hope that will never fade!

Today, we can have fullness of joy and everlasting peace,

Because God is with us and will never leave.

Praise the Lord!
