Scripture Reading: Genesis 39-42 

Call to Worship:

We will sing of God’s love and justice

Let us praise his holy name together!

He extends his steadfast love to us through all generations

His ways are just and lead to life everlasting

Let us praise his holy name together!

Confession and Lament:

Lord, we grieve the suffering we have experienced –

Suffering due to our own doing or the doing of others. 

We often respond with despair or turn away from you, 

But Lord, you showed us the way.

Help us call on the Father's name in our dark hour.

When we lash out because life feels unfair,

Or we isolate in our shame,

Help us turn our eyes towards Jesus instead:

The hope of our salvation.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

No matter what has happened to us, God will never leave us.

Our hope will not put us to shame!

He has walked before us despised and humble,

He shows us the way and gives us strength!

Coming to meet us when we were lowly,

In him, our deepest joy is found!
