Scripture Reading: Genesis 16-19

Call to Worship:

Rejoice in the Lord! 

Give thanks to His holy name!

He preserves the lives of the saints. 

He delivers us from the hand of the wicked!

The heavens proclaim His righteousness.

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

Confession and Lament:

We lament the misuse of God’s promises.

God has more than enough for all,

So we can lift one another up

without pride, fear, or greed.

Teach us unity and true generosity, Lord!

We grieve that we are part of a culture 

Where unfairness is celebrated.

It is complex and deeply rooted.

Help us to be creative in the ways we love,

To honor those created in your image.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

We can be so impatient to see God’s blessings

That we lose sight of what we have in Christ:

We have the full love of God with us!

When we struggle with delay or our sin,

God is still working!

Hallelujah! He doesn’t give up on us!
