12.7.25
Dec 7, 2025 - Sunday Liturgy: Advent Week 1 // Writer: Megan Hutchins
Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:10 [PEACE]
Call to Worship:
Infinite, Almighty God,
Though mighty beyond comprehension,
You chose to humble yourself.
Though You are high and lifted up,
You stepped down as Emmanuel: “God With Us”
The peace of Your presence reigns over the troubled waters of our souls!
You repair our divisions and disunity!
Above all, we worship You, our Prince of Peace!
Confession and Lament:
In a season filled with joy,
Our hearts may be heavy and burdened.
We know the truth that You came to bring peace on earth,
And while we may catch glimpses of it,
We struggle to see Your kingdom around us.
Instead, we see so much brokenness.
We cry out to you, Lord,
“Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.”
Assurance of Gospel Peace:
Once we were far from God, living life without hope.
Once we were divided by our differences, slaves to our sin.
But Jesus stood in the gap of all our divisions.
The blood of Christ has purchased our peace!
Jesus’ body was broken so that we could be made whole.
We are now no longer orphans and strangers,
But sons and daughters, brothers and sisters!
Thank You, Jesus for this gift of peace!
