11.30.25
Nov 30, 2025 - Sunday Liturgy: Advent Week 1
Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:5-9 [HOPE]
Call to Worship:
Let us raise our hearts and lift our voices together.
We join the heavenly hosts in praise!
Glory to God in the highest!
We sing to the Lord who visits his people with comfort and fills them with hope!
Hallelujah!
Glory to God in the highest!
Confession and Lament:
We don’t need to pretend that faith is easy,
Yet we sometimes show off good deeds
in order to hide our insecurities and doubts.
Help us to be honest and confident in you.
This world rewards manipulation and power
to achieve its ends—and calls this “good”.
But honesty, dignity, and patience are tossed aside.
Let the hope that you see us give us courage!
Assurance of Gospel Peace:
Jesus, you came to set the captive free,
But you also came to redeem the oppressor.
He gives abundant life to any who will come to him!
You see perpetrators and victims, calling both to join you in the kingdom that makes all things new.
All of this through the hope of Christ who lived, died, and rose for us!
Hallelujah! He makes all things new!
