Call to Worship:

God of the rainbow,

You keep your promises!

**Let us sing to our faithful God!**

God of compassion,

You give us new life and hope!

**Let us sing to our gracious God!**

Confession and Lament:

Lord, we lament the use of scripture

To oppress and dominate others.

We mourn when your Word

has been weaponized.

**Help us restore what was lost.**

We confess that shame, fear,

Bitterness, pride, and power

Get in the way of unity.

**Cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in us.**

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

Jesus himself was cursed on the cross ― 

**Our accuser has nothing left to say!**

He has turned our curses into blessings, 

He has turned away our shame.

**Now our mouths are filled with praise!**
