Scripture Reading: Peace - Philippians 4

Call to Worship:

Glory to God in the highest! 

You are king over all creation.
You offer good news to all, 

And bring great joy and peace

Jesus, we worship you! 

When the world around us and within us is shaken, 

You offer a peace that surpasses our understanding. 

Jesus, our prince of peace, we worship you! 

Confession and Lament

Father, we often carry loads too heavy for us to bear.

We forget your invitation to make our requests known to you.  

Forgive us when we choose our striving over your rest. 

In everything, our worries and cares are safe with you.

When tempted to rely on our own understanding, 

Speak to our hearts and point us back to you. 

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

Truly our God is our redeemer. 

Jesus, you alone made a way for us. 

Your sacrifice on the cross reconciled us to the Father.

You rose from the grave so that we too could live, 

Forever at peace with you.

May we rest in this gospel truth

And may our lives reflect this peace to those we encounter.
