Call to Worship:
We are gathered here today to worship the Lord of Heaven.
We come to worship You in spirit and in truth!
We surrender everything to You–
Our fears, our expectations, and our hopes–
Because You are sovereign over all things.
Nothing is a surprise to you!
So we can trust in Your goodness and Your mercy!
Confession and Lament:
Lord, our hearts are prone to wander away from You.
Sin corrupts who You created us to be.
Lord, how easily we forget that You have called us.
Instead of praising You for extending grace,
We hold our sins close to us,
Afraid that letting them go means less joy or pleasure in life.
Lord, help us to remember that You are the Source of abundant life.
Assurance of Gospel Peace:
We can look to the cross as a reminder of why Jesus came:
To seek and save the lost.
Every sin that separates was once and for all dealt with on the cross.
Jesus died to rise again, with victory in his hand!
And we are never alone,
Because the Spirit of God that raised Jesus from the grave dwells in us.
And we are being sanctified until the day Christ returns!
