Scripture Reading: Genesis 3:1-14 

Call to Worship: 

The world scatters in fear,

Grabbing where it can for power and security.

But we worship the King of all things!

The Lord rules with righteousness and justice.

He fights for those who cannot fight for themselves.

He gives provision to those who lack.

God, we give thanks to You,

Because You are always in control!

Confession and Lament:

Lord, we can bring our questions to You.

You want to know us closely because You created us.

Yet, we turn to other people or places to find answers.

Forgive us, Lord, for trying to find our own way.

You have called us to love You with all that we are.

You have assured us that You have overcome the world.

Still, we fear what we think man can do to us.

Help us, Lord, to recognize Your power.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

Jesus is Master over sin, death, and the grave.

The enemy has no power over us anymore.

We have victory in Christ!

We can resist the devil and he will flee from us.

In Jesus, we have true freedom.

Who the Son sets free is free indeed!
