CONFESSION & LAMENT
Jesus, some days we welcome your reign with loud applause;
Sometimes we wish there was more to it.
You arrive clothed in humility and gentleness;
Sometimes we wish you came with a sword and strength.
Help us receive you as you are; not as we wish you to be.
Lord, grow our faith and help our unbelief!
Help us receive what you have given and to always ask in faith.

ASSURANCE OF GOSPEL PEACE
Jesus, though Your kingly reign begins gently,
We know it will end in strength and power!
You will deliver the needy who cry out,
Those afflicted who have no one to help!
Your reign is certain and sure,
Your kingly rule is full of righteousness.
You take pity on the weak and the needy.
You rescue us from sin and death,
Because we are precious in Your sight.
