Scripture Reading: Psalm 121

Call to Worship:

Come, worship the creator of heaven and earth!

He never sleeps or grows tired.

He alone will keep watch over us every day! 

Praise the Almighty, who protects his children from harm!

He is always present and always near.

Lift your eyes and behold him!

Confession and Lament

The Lord is our help whenever we are in need.

Still, how often do we only turn to him in trouble?

Lord, reveal our hearts to us.

We choose to turn away from you,

Longing to be the lord of our own lives.

Have you not shown us your character?

Have you not proved to be faithful?

Lord, reveal our hearts to us.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

We do not have to fear and tremble at the days to come,

Because we are loved by our Father.

He is a shade when the sun beats down,

A covering of safety for those who belong to him.

By his Spirit, he protects us from evil,

Bringing us into abundant life.

He kept us yesterday and he will keep us today.

So, we know he will keep us forever!
