Scripture Reading: Exodus 3-6

Call to Worship:

The Lord is our refuge and strength,

Our God in whom we can trust.

Praise God for his sovereign care for us!
He is our mighty deliverer,

Working all things together for good
For those who love him and are called according to his purpose.
God, we praise you for your loving kindness toward us!

Confession and Lament:

Lord, we mourn the suffering that is present across our world today.

We know that you hear the cries of the oppressed.
You are our very present help in times of trouble.
We can often respond to suffering with doubt and anxious frustration,

So, we, too, lament the frailty of our faith.
God, your promises never fail.
You will bring justice to right every wrong.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

In Christ, God entered into our human experience.
Jesus bore our sin on the cross and rescued us to be his own.
We are no longer orphans but sons and daughters.
God is faithful to walk with us through all of life’s troubles,

His kindness and patience help us to see the depth of our need for him.
Jesus, you are our exalted King and closest friend.
