For He blesses the poor and give righteousness to the lowly

Yahweh the strong and mighty!

Yahweh the almighty!

Confession and Lament:

From Psalm 51

Lord, so often we try to please you with our own strength. 

We try to right our own wrongs and find salvation in other things. 

We try to solve our own problems, trying to take control. 

Lord, help us to release our grip on our lives. 

When things get heavy and we feel the weight of the world,

Restore to us the joy of your salvation.

When life feels dark and hope seems impossible,

Open our mouths to declare your praise.

Remind us of your presence, Lord.

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

From Psalm 116

Praise to the Lord who hears our voice.

Praise to the Lord hears our cries. 

He turns his ear to us, 

So we can call on Him as long as we live. 

Through the sacrifice of Jesus, 

Our souls have been delivered from death.

Through Jesus, there is eternal peace!
