Scripture Reading: Leviticus 16-17 

[Day of Atonement & Unacceptable offerings/practices]

Call to Worship:

Praise to the everlasting God!

He was and is and always will be!

Praise to the everlasting God,

Who reigns throughout eternity!

He cannot be defeated!

He is the victorious one!

Confession and Lament:

Lord, you are Jehovah Shalom,

Our peace at all times.

We admit that there are areas of our lives that cause us anxiety,

Leading us to hold tight to the things we value most and giving us a false sense of security.

Lord, you give and take away.

When we feel your peace, may we acknowledge that it’s a precious gift.

Lord, you give and take away.

May we rest in your peace in every season.

We trust in you, our refuge and strength!

Assurance of Gospel Peace:

The Lord God saw fit to send the Son to rescue us from sin and darkness.

Our sin was traded for his righteousness!

And he has sent to us a Helper.

The Spirit is the seal of his promise to us:

He will never leave us or forsake us.

So, we take his light into the world,

Bringing life and peace wherever we go.
